Rare rainbow cloud seen in northern Thailand
This rare rainbow cloud caught the eye of a driver when it was seen in northern Thailand on January 4.
The motorists stopped on the country road in Phrae province to film the beautiful sight.
Rainbow clouds are caused when light is refracted through tiny water crystals at high altitude. The resulting effect is a condensed rainbow that hovers in the atmosphere for a few minutes before the cloud disperses.
