muddy volcano
Muddy volcanoes are located in Romania in Buzău County, a natural, botanical and geological reservation, at an altitude of 341 m and 16,5 ha. Near the muddy volcanoes, the soil is sulphurous and salty, not prone to ordinary vegetation. However, certain specially adapted plant species, such as Nitraria schoberi and Obione verrucifera, find here a good living environment.
