Extreme close up video of a veiled chameleon shows how quickly it can catch its prey with a single flick of its tongue.

The clip filmed February 15, shows Yoshi, the pet chameleon of wildlife enthusiast Stuart Hamilton, eyeing up the locust and shooting out its tongue, managing to catch it.

Stuart filmed the clip of his pet and told Newsflare: “The chameleon's tongue can extend twice as long its body, and he eats a variety of insects such as crickets, cockroach, mealworms and locusts.”
