Indonesian Navy and Indonesian Customs arrested five people who would smuggle dozens of protected animals into Malaysia in Pekanbaru, Riau. The animals that will be included are two of Dark-handed Gibbon (Hylobates agilis), seven of Lesser Bird-of-paradise (Paradisaea minor), three of Sulawesi Golden Hornbills (Rhabdotorrhinus exarhatus), twelve of The palm cockatoo (Probosciger aterrimus), two of Twelve-wired Bird-of-paradise (Seleucidis melanoleucus), two of The king bird-of-paradise (Cicinnurus regius), two of Wilson's Bird-of-paradise (Cicinnurus respublica) and 10 other birds that have not been identified. Bird of paradise originating from Papua was smuggled to Malaysia and other countries due to high prices, the Indonesian Government guarded the border to catch illegal trade from protected animals.
