Watch - Dog shelter centre damaged and later volunteers building back shelters in Bhubneshwar
During cyclone fani everything got effected in odisha. During cyclone fani in May 3 animal shelter centre on the outskirts of Bhubneshwar badly destructed due to heavy winds, dogs can be seen roaming here and there open and in water under broken shelter roofs ,members of animal welfare trust ekarma came forward to rebuild animal shelter home and urged people to rebuilt it. Founder Purabi Patra along with five other volunteers started rebuilding shelter home and taking care of animals there.
While most animals were rescued, the trust, which is home to over 60 cats and dogs lost a feline and a dog. The volunteers have announced a cash prize of Rs 5000 for a dog which has gone missing.In the aftermath of the disaster, they are now appealing people to help them restore their lives as they are equally important part of the society.
