A Halifax man expressed his anger when he caught a police officer using their mobile phone while at the wheel of their car with the engine running on May 18.

The officers were spotted in the Elland area of the Yorkshire town parked up whilst using their mobile phone, which is an offence in the UK.

The filmer can be heard saying: "Look at that, another law broken by the old bill.

"Sat there on his phone with the engine ticking over.

"Hold on officer, int' that illegal to be using your phone whilst engine's on tick over, isn't that a law now no?

"Your engine's running and you're sat there on your phone! Anybody else would be penalised for that.

"Well, that's just it init? You lot can choose a bit of law as you see fit.

"F****** atrocious, call yourself a copper? Corrupt, mate, corrupt!

"F****** take p*** these c****"

The filmer later told Newsflare: "Any member of society would have been given points and a fine for the same offence."

They also commented: "It's wrong of them to penalise us for the stuff they do themselves."

West Yorkshire Police have been asked for comment.
