Chanting in Sanskrit as part of Buddhist religion when visiting a temple in Thailand

On a road trip throughout Phitsanulok with Dad. Here, Dad is diligently chanting the Sanskrit words written in Thai. Normally, when you visit the temple in Thailand, as part of a Buddhist tradition, you have to pay respect by kneeling on floor, putting your hands together, and then lowering your upper body onto the floor opening your palm so you can push yourself back up to the starting position. It’s customary to do this 3 times. The second version is what my Dad is doing, in which he recites the Sanskrit words written in Thai doing this before and after the above action. When reciting the words, you have the option of reading it out loud or in silence.
