Snake strangles lizard but can't wrap its jaws around its head
A snake was caught strangling a lizard - which was too big for it to swallow.
The golden tree snake pounced on the blue and orange tokay gecko in Chumphon, southern Thailand on Wednesday (21/08) afternoon.
But even after suffocating the reptile, it was unable to wrap its jaws around all of its body.
Homeowner Sudawon Romptch spotted the tussle in her back garden. She filmed as the snake tried unsuccessfully to devour its prey.
Sudawon said: ''The gecko was dead but the snake couldn't eat it. It was too big for its mouth. The snake gave up and left after this.
'''Then I had to clean up the mess it had left behind. The gecko's buried right here in my back yard.''
