Tens of thousands of people queued to enter an IKEA store in central China on its opening day.

The video, filmed in Zhengzhou city in Henan province on August 29, shows massive crowds lining up outside the 28th IKEA store in the country and security guards managing the queues.

A security guard can be heard saying "close your umbrellas" through a loudspeaker to the crowds who were trying to use their umbrellas to block the strong sunshine.

According to reports, customers had to wait for at least two hours to enter the store and 80,000 people entered within the first hour.

商场的开业仪式于上午9点举行，由于排队等候的人太多，9点半，商场就开始安检，有人表示，排队过了六个限流卡点后，排了两个多小时的队，于11点半左右进入商场。
当日上午，户外阳光强烈，商场入口大批排队等待进入商场的人流顶着酷热在拥挤下也显得有些焦急。为确保安全，商场入口处，不断有大批保安员前来增援，维持现场秩序，以避免发生踩踏事件。
至于为什么会有这么多人，大家表示：郑州宜家是中国第28家，中原地区第一家宜家商场。备受人关注，大家觉得很新鲜。另外一些人是慕名宜家，希望开业第一天有优惠，能淘到自己喜欢的商品。
