An Indian tech designer has developed an air-conditioned helmet to keep cool while riding under the scorching sun in south India.

Sandeep Dahiya, director of a multinational company based out of Bangalore, Karnataka state, designed his unique apparatus which includes a tube for air circulation that runs down the wearer's spine.

The helmet composed of two parts, the first having several rubber tubes meant for air circulation inside the helmet, while the second is a wearable component like a backpack, complete with a reverse thermocouple, heat exchanger, control and blower unit.

The heat exchanging blows cool air with the help of a semiconductor (commonly used in spaceships) that functions as a thermostat as the temperature rises and drops. The air circulator tubes are connected to a handy, remote-controlled AC device.

Sandeep claims his helmet is just 1.7 kilograms, with most currently on the market weighing between 800 grams to 2 kilograms.
