This is the amusing moment a cyclist was spotted riding along the road - while using a bird box as a helmet.

Lea Ian Engbino noticed the bike rider manoeuvring in the outer lane, proudly parading the wooden avian shelter as his headgear in Davao del Sur, the Philippines.

Footage shows the man coasting down the motorway with the quirky contraption resembling a miniature house on August 31.

The model house can be seen complete with a snout for a mouth, windows for eyes, and spinning fans for ears.

Lea said: 'Traffic was moderate when we saw this boy biking. We literally laughed because he was riding so confidently, and then suddenly crossed our path. It was our first time seeing something like that on the highway.'
