47-year-old Mumbai returned man tests positive for coronavirus, throws entire housing society into lockdown with 12 people in quarantine in western India

Amid the lockdown set in place to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the first positive case that surfaced in the area has taken the total number of COVID- 19 cases to 105 in the western Indian state of Gujarat.

The incident took place at Patan on April 3, 2020.

According to sources, a 47-year-old man from Bhilavan village had arrived from Mumbai a few days back.

Following this, during an investigation at Dharapur Hospital, a report was found that turned out to be positive.

According to sources, the man was living with his relatives who are feared to be positive too.

Around 12 people have been quarantined after the incident.

The whole locality is being sprayed with disinfectants to remove traces of the virus that might have spread.

The housing society, where the 47-year-old stayed, has been sealed off by the local authorities to bar any outsiders from coming in.

No residents are allowed to come out of the locality for the time being.

In India, the total number of coronavirus cases rose to 1902 with the death toll crossing 60 mark.
