A local mosque in cape town has implemented a drive through drop off point for muslims to donate the obligatory charity that forms part of the month of ramadan.
A secure box is placed on the sidewalk guarded by armed guards which oversee the process.
Community members drive to the box and insert their donation.
Zakatul Fitr is the obligatory donation paid by muslims and equals the value of a staple meal in the country or region.
Due to the covid 19 lockdown public gatherings including mosque worship is probibited.
