A seagull is caught on camera eating rat in one gulp

Allyson Reis, 54, woke up to screeches and screams outside her window, and rushed to see three seagulls and two magpies turning on the rodent. One gull killed the rat before she could get her phone out - but a clip shows the bird gulping down the rat in one go. It barely struggles to gulp it down - despite the size of the meal. She said the birds have grown desperate for food due to a lack of rubbish on the streets and in bins due to lockdown, and had even started eating other feathered friends.
