Dramatic moment three-storey building collapses in Bangalore, India
This was the terrifying moment a three-storey building collapsed in Bangalore, southern India on July 29.
No casualties were reported as the police had evacuated occupants of the building a day ago. Officials said another building in the vicinity had also collapsed.
The incident took place next to a construction site, which had been dug 80-feet deep to build a high rise. Officials said poorly planned construction activity had led to the collapse of the building. The owner of the new project would face legal action, they added.
A local resident said: “We had informed the police and civic officials after cracks were discovered in the building. All occupants in the building and the nearby ones were evacuated on July 28 itself.”
Police, civil and fire department personnel, who were stationed at the spot, captured the dramatic moment of the three-story building tumbling down. The video was distributed by the local police.
