A heroic police officer stopped a driverless car from being hit by a bus in central China.

The CCTV video, filmed in the city of Yichang in Hubei Province on August 20, shows a car rear-ending another one, then the driver from the front car got out to check.

However, the front car suddenly moved away after the driver stepped out as he forgot to pull the hand brake.

The driver then started to chase after the car as well as a police officer who was patrolling on a motorcycle.

After the police officer passed the car, he threw his motorcycle away to run to open the car door and jumped inside to stop it.

Fortunately, the car was stopped in time at the intersection, narrowly avoiding being crashed into by a bus.

8月20日早上7点23分，湖北宜昌城区暴雨倾盆，两台从水悦城沿发展大道往东站方向行驶的车辆，在距离大连路路口50米左右的地方发生追尾事故，前车司机下车查看时 ，因为没有拉手刹，车辆开始顺下坡溜车。正在巡逻的高新区交警大队辅警付波正巧看到这一幕。
车子发生滑动时，付波驾驶的警用摩托车距离车辆还有近5米左右的距离，司机也试图追赶车辆，却始终无法靠近。
此时，溜车方向的信号灯刚刚转为红灯，大连路出城方向转为绿灯，溜车距离十字路口越来越近，情况危急。
付波骑摩托车加速超过小汽车后，立即把摩托车扔到地上，此时，小汽车还在不断向前滑行，付波迅速跑向车辆，拉开车门，纵身一跃进入车内，刹停车辆。此时，车辆已经到达人行横道，一辆准备右转进入城东大道的旅游大巴也紧急刹车。
宜昌市公安局交警支队高新区交警大队辅警 付波说：当时刹车，那个小车和旅游大巴的距离2米。当时就没想这块 ，没想怕与不怕，停稳后，心里还是有点怕的，毕竟那个大巴车和小车距离太近了。（视频由湖北台提供）
