A beautiful Lesser Galago (Bush Baby) feeding at night

Lesser Galagos or Bush Babies (Galago moholi) are small, nocturnal primates that are found in woodland savanna, thornveld and riverine forest in sub-Saharan Africa. This Galago is one of a family that live in the roof of the office friend’s house in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. The Galagos sleep together during the day, but forage alone at night, looking for the gum of suitable trees, insects and occasionally small vertebrates such as geckoes. Our friends feed the Galagos, placing mealworms in a planter basket hanging in a tree in their garden. This cute Galago was videoed using infrared light, which it cannot see, as it searched for food. Galagos are famous jumpers and have extremely bright eyeshine.
