9-pound (4-kg) rescue dog Violet got so funny when we turned on my daughter's remote control car. Fun for the whole family. We adopted Violet, a poodle mix, in April, during the pandemic. She was found abandoned, emaciated, bloody, and missing most of her fur. It feels so good to be able to give her a safe, happy life now.

I wasn't sure what she'd think of the car. I was ready to put it away immediately if it scared her. But she loves playing with it. I love the tiny little noises she makes, mini-barks. (I assure you, you can make some HUGE barks when she wants to.)

I love trying to imagine what a dog thinks of battery-powered toys. Does she think the car is alive, but just sleeps most of the time? #animalantics
