A thick mist covered the skies in Sacramento, California on September 11 as the wildfire continues to ravage the region.

In the video, the sun appears to become a blazing ball of red while visibility is badly affected by smog caused by the fires.
The Resident, Samantha, said: ''This is what I see here, I did not edit it or anything, it’s pure terrifying.''

The fires in California have since spread across the state burning more than three million acres with 10 at least deaths and 16 people missing.

In neighbouring Oregon, four people have been confirmed dead with several more missing from the fires. Officials have reported more than 900,000 acres burned across the state with more than 500,000 people are under evacuation orders.
