Rejecting the Job Creation Act that was passed by the People's Representative Council (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, thousands of college students from the College student Executive Board (BEM) throughout Riau Province staged a demonstration in front of the Riau Province Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) building, on Jalan Jend. Sudirman, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. Thursday (8/10/2020). The demonstration was chaotic. Police deployed a water cannon and fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.
