Shopping centre flooded as Tropical Storm Ofel sweeps through Philippines
Footage shows floodwater pouring into shops inside a mall in Quezon City, Philippines on October 12, as tropical storm Ofel hit the country.
Onlooker Rain Saguid said the water came from the ceiling's portion above a clothing store that collapsed after heavy rains started to pour outside.
He said: "They really should take a look at their building maintenance. It could have been dangerous if someone was standing under the broken ceiling."
The mall did not close for the day and continued operation with customers being seen walking around the water-logged areas.
Additional footage shows residents evacuating after a flash flood submerged their homes in Misamis Oriental province, the Philippines, on October 12.
Rescue officer Cyril Cambalon Jr said around 24 families or 114 individuals were rescued after being trapped inside their houses.
Ofel is expected to exit the country on Friday (October 16), leaving a trail of destruction in its path after a series of flash floods and landslides.
