Hundreds from the Nigerian community gathered outside the country's High Commission in central London on Wednesday (October 21) to protest police brutality during demonstrations in Lagos.

Amnesty International has claimed at least 12 people have been killed by soldiers and police in Nigeria's biggest city during protests over the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). Protesters are calling for further changes to the security forces and reforms to the way the country is run.

Demonstrators in London chanted "solidarity forever, we shall always fight for our rights" as they blocked the road outside the embassy. Police stood in front of the building where fake blood and eggs had been splattered on the outside.
