Thousands of 'End SARS' protesters rallied outside the Nigerian high commission in London, England, to call for an end to police brutality in Nigeria yesterday (October 21).

The anti-police brutality movement erupted after a video of demonstrators being shot apparently by officers with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, known as SARS, while singing the national anthem was circulated on social media at Lekki toll plaza in Lagos, Nigeria on October 20.

Amnesty international confirmed at least 12 deaths with hundreds of injuries from the Tuesday shootings.

The Lagos governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said there were many injuries and one died from the incident.

Nigerians protesters have been rallying on the streets for weeks while more than 180,000 have signed a petition demanding sanctions towards the Nigerian government.
