A river in central China turned green, causing panic in the area over the quality of the water.

In the video, shot in the city of Enshi in Hubei Province on November 2, the water in the Yemao River is seen having turned green due to use of fluorescent tracer liquid during a reservoir flow test.

The water supply was suspended in the area and will not resume until the water is tested and deemed safe to drink.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
