The strong winds and dry vegetation prevailing in Hong Kong with the cold season have brought up at least two fire departures on the flank of Kowloon Peak, the mountain, location of a famous viewpoint over Kowloon. Despite being challenged with rapid fire departures and flames tending to be quickly fanned by strong winds on mountain flanks difficult of access for traditional fires, the Government Flying Service helicopters managed to put out the blazes pretty quickly.
