Nurse does silly dance to cheer up Covid-19 patient in the Philippines
This is the heartwarming moment a nurse danced with an elderly patient to cheer them up inside a Covid-19 ward in the Philippines.
Nurse Ron Sara was reviewing the CCTV footage when he saw one of his colleagues entertaining the old woman in Cagayan de Oro province.
The kind nurse wearing a full protective suit had just finished taking the patient's care record for the day when she noticed that the infected patient seemed downhearted.
The old woman had been admitted to the hospital's Covid-19 ward for several days without contact to family outside.
To cheer her up, the nurse burst into dance moves while asking the patient to sway with her.
After talking for a bit, the nurse resumed with doing her rounds while the old woman rested on her bed.
Ron said their job as nurse tending to Covid-19 patients is hard, but it gives them self-fulfilment.
He said: "There is no greater gift that a nurse receives than to see the priceless joy from the faces of their patients.
"I salute to the nurses who brings so much happiness and making difference to the lives of others."
The Philippines has recorded 435,000 Covid-19 cases with 399,00 recoveries and 8,446 deaths as of December 3.
