A hiker was baffled after finding several fuzzy “dancing” insects on a tree branch.

Insect enthusiast Jonathan Good said he first noticed the black mass of fungi growing on a tree branch and later saw the tiny creatures having a “party” on the twig attached to it in Cartersville, Georgia.

He said: “A branch of a tree had a black fungal mass growing on it; on a twig above were all these tiny white insects dance. What on earth is this?”

Jonathan showed the video to his friends and found out that the little creatures are Woolly Aphids which are distinguished by the long, white, waxy filaments that cover their bodies.

They generally eat in groups and can be seen feeding on foliage, buds, twigs and branches, bark, and even the roots.
