This is the bizarre moment a flexible squirrel did splits on a tree branch while nibbling on fruit.

The rodent was seen happily munching on its meal while its legs were stretched apart perched on a tree at Bangkok's Chatuchak Park on May 29.

Its feet clung onto the twig as it held the yoga position for several seconds, keeping it balanced despite the breeze.

Onlooker Panya Boonrit said: 'The squirrels at the park are afraid of unfamiliar people at first, but if you give them fruit regularly, they become less shy and approach you.

'They like to eat fruits, but these must be soaked in baking soda first and rinsed repeatedly. They should not be given baked, boiled, sugar-coated, or salty beans or nuts.'
