STREET MUSICIAN
The Angklung music group is ngamen at a busy red light. angklung is a musical instrument made of bamboo. This musical instrument is capable of playing various musical genres. in this street concert, angklung is the lead. vowels are just a complement. another musical instrument is self-made percussion. most of the songs they play are traditional Javanese songs. but they can also play pop songs and even rock. These musicians come from Cilacap city 500 km southeast of Jakarta. the whole family joined in this musical troupe. all have a role .... one of them is collecting money from stopped motorists. their song is played only when the light turns red - that's when the rider stops. The song must be played immediately. when the lights turn green, the song stops because the driver as the listener has to walk. the time is only one minute. their daily income is only IDR 100,000, equivalent to $ 8. they only took 3 hours in this sealing. from 15.00 to 18.00 they also receive calls for concerts at weddings, circumcisions and political campaigns. interview sir strong, our 50 years here are just looking for a little fortune .. we bring traditional angklung music. we used to sing mixed songs, dangdut and pop.
