Chinese man detained for doing sit-ups on high-voltage powerline after dispute
A man in southern China was detained after climbed onto a high-voltage utility pole to do sit-ups after having a dispute which left him infuriated.
The video, filmed in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province on February 21, shows a 22-year-old man named Wu doing sit-ups on the top of a high-voltage utility pole.
According to reports, Wu had a dispute with others and deliberately climbed onto the utility pole to release his anger.
After receiving the report, police arrived on site and informed the electric power department to cut off the electricity.
Wu finally climbed down after police attempted to persuade him to come down for around four hours.
Police have detained Wu and the case is under further investigation.
