Sand storm sweeps through oil drilling base in Saudi Arabia
This is the scary moment a sandstorm swept through an oil rig in Saudi Arabia.
Kervi Insigne was working as an nurse on the drilling camp when the gusts blew through the area in Dammam on March 5.
Speaking in the video, he says: "It’s very difficult to work outside because sand and dust is going in my eyes even while wearing protection. And if you are inside you can still feel because something is still entering through the holes in the doors and windows."
Dust storms, or sand storms, are caused by strong winds that often accompany thunderstorms. In dry regions, such as the Middle East and Australia, the winds can pull dust from the ground up into the air, creating a dust storm.
