Mother bear and her babies walk on road in Japan
This is the moment a mother bear and her cubs walked on a road in Japan.
Footage shows the bear family emerging from a roadside forest in Shiretoko on June 23.
The mother walked in front of her offspring, guiding them as they plodded next to cars.
A driver said: 'The car in front of me stopped so I tried to overtake it, but I saw there was a bear passing through. I hurriedly slammed on the brakes. It was exciting to see it coming toward me.'
Shiretoko, on the northeastern tip of Hokkaido island, is known as the home of Japan's largest population of brown bears.
