Firefighters dragged a vehicle to shore after the motorist parked on a beach as the tide rose in eastern China.

The video captured in Qingdao shows a white car stuck in the rising tide with the water level reaching the door handle.

The vehicle was floating and could have been washed away by the waves.

The fire brigade was called to the scene and fixed a rope to the trunk of the trapped vehicle before attempting to pull it back to shore.

Although six or seven people tried together, the trapped vehicle did not move. Subsequently, the firefighters contacted a local rescue team, and some citizens also came to help.

Nearly an hour later, the trapped vehicle was successfully pulled ashore.

It is understood that the trapped vehicle was rented by two men from a nearby village and they parked it on the beach for convenience.

Some citizens earlier reminded the two people of the rising tide but they thought it was unnecessary as the sea is far away from the beach.

The video was filmed on May 1 and provided by local media.
