INDIA (Punjab) Zirakhpur, A 40-year-old carpenter has built a wooden cycle to remove boredom from the lockdown.
Dhani Ram Saggu told that at first, he had drawn a bicycle design on paper. and then he tried to make a functional bicycle using old plywood. After the test ride, he found that there were many glitches in the first model.
so he used Canadian wood and came up with an improved version of the antique-looking bicycle. It took 4 months and 4 attempts for Dhani Ram to make a working wooden bicycle.
Dhani Ram managed the entire fabrication work by himself. He has spent days and weeks in designing cutting, drilling, molding, polishing, ergonomics, components selection, and assembly of the bicycle.
The approximate weight of his wooden bicycle is 20 kgs only and made for an adult.
It can carry up to 150 kg of weight. It’s a single-speed bicycle and fitted with a basic saddle, wooden fenders, front basket and kick-stand.
