A wild elephant held up traffic after it strolled on a mountain road in northeastern Thailand.

Footage shows the jumbo walking on the road a few feet away from stopped cars along Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Tourist akkana Khunjamaung said the animal emerged from the forest so they parked the vehicles on the road side and waited for it to leave.

She said: ‘We were confused why there was traffic and saw the elephant. We stopped for almost half an hour before it returned back to the woods.’
