Two monitor lizards wrestle in a pond for mating rights
This is the amusing moment two monitor lizards were seen wrestling in a pond to win mating rights to a female.
Footage shows the reptiles appearing to cuddle sweetly in the water among lily plants in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, Thailand.
However, the animals were actually wrestling for mating rights and territory when they were found by locals.
Onlooker Jacky Navarro said: ‘Most of the time we do afternoon walks and its normal to see a monitor lizard around the area.
‘However, that time I saw four of them and it was the first time seeing them fight that’s why I took a video right away. I didn’t feel scared. I was entertained instead.’
