A shopper has shared the moment she discovered a secret code of strange circles, triangles and squares on Zara's labels.

Lucy Bradley, 23, from Derbyshire, has taken to TikTok to share her revelation , leaving social media users stunned.

In the video, which has been viewed more than 2.9 million times, Lucy shows the moment she discovered Zara's hidden labelling system.

She can then be seen searching through her wardrobe for different Zara items and finding the symbols on all of them.

However, it's unclear what they actually mean, as people on TikTok have been left divided – as some say it's about age, while others claim it's to do with sizing and type of collections.

One TikTokker explained that the circle tends to be for older customers, the square is the basic collection and the triangle is for younger people and teens.

"I just checked my clothes and it's true," said one person.

“It’s like the style of the clothes,” added someone else.

“It’s nothing to do with size! I’m a Zara employee and it’s with different collections and sections of the store,” said one viewer.

"Square I think is smaller than the actual size," added another person.

"Why don't they just make things true to size to begin with lmao," wrote someone else. [sic]

“Someone made a comment about these different shapes… I checked my wardrobe to see if it was an actual thing and it was!,” Lucy, a trainee driving instructor and musician, told Jam Press.

“I never noticed them before and thought nothing of them until I made that TikTok.

“I was surprised to see that they had a meaning, even though I’m not 100% sure what they mean, it's interesting.”

“Because my sizes vary massively in Zara, I feel like the shapes are useful for future purchases."

Lucy has been left blown away by the response to her clip, which has received more than 184,000 likes so far.

She said: “I’ve always made TikToks for fun so having a video blow up like it did was very unexpected but quite exciting too!

“It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that struggles with Zara sizes, the majority of my wardrobe is Zara but the sizes really do range from S-XL!”

Jam Press has contacted Zara for comment.
