Sport’s Illustrated has unveiled their oldest ever star – a 57-year-old model who is now lifting the lid on her beauty secrets.

Kathy Jacobs, from Texas, US, bagged a spot on the annual Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit 2021 issue after applying twice for the “swim search."

She had previously appeared on the runway for the brand, but her dream was to be in print again – after appearing in the 2020 issue last year.

Determined Jacobs even had to fly to Miami and wait in line for eight hours for her first audition in 2019, before wowing the team after trying for a second time.

She made it into the top 16 models, then was selected in the top six, before finally bagging the top spot.

When she found out, she was on her way to the vet with her poorly pet dog, was make-up free and looked a “total mess."

“I got a FaceTime call telling me that I was a model in the issue – I had so many emotions going on it was insane,” Jacobs said.

“It was a mixture of gratitude, excitement, disbelief and a sense of relief that I finally had an answer to something that I wanted so bad.

“Both times I had walked the runway for Sports Illustrated were definitely some of the happiest moments of my life.”

Now, Jacobs is thrilled to be representing older women in the issue once again – something she believes is important for other women her age to see.

She added: “I really try to convey to the audience my gratitude and I also try to convey that women my age are still relevant and have a lot to offer.

“We are sexy, playful, and deserving to be included.

“I hope more brands include women my age because I’m sick and tired of seeing women in their 20s and 30s telling me how to age gracefully when quite honestly they haven’t got a clue because they haven’t experienced it yet.

“I want someone who’s gone through menopause who has accomplished looking good to show me how to do it.”

Not only is Jacobs the oldest model in the magazine – she is also the shortest, standing at just 5 foot 2 inches tall.

But despite being slightly different to her fellow models, Jacobs said it was “fantastic” to appear alongside younger stars.

“I believe that you do not have to dim your light because you are over twice as old as most of the other models that you are walking down the runway with.

“I feel that it was a win for all women over 50 and all of my short sisters.”

The shoot took place at a beach in Florida – the perfect backdrop to model swimwear.

While Jacobs said the photographer was a “genius” at making her look good, she has also taken pains to retain her stunning looks.

“I’ve been making my own skincare for eight years,” she explained.

“I currently use vitamin C serum, peptide cream, body cream and purple shampoo and conditioner for my hair.

“I don’t currently have any Botox or filler. Not that they are bad – I loved having them in the past and got a small amount last year but it wore off.

“I am into working out my face right now because I work out my body, and I think it makes sense to work out my face.

“I use the Nuface Trinity Micro-current with the new silk cream activator to lift my face.

“I also plump my lips with a fix serum – it works. My husband even asks me if I got lip filler.

“I then use neck lift wands and they are great – you can literally feel them working.

“I also use face lift wand serum under my eyes and on my crow's feet and forehead wrinkles.”

Diet-wise, Jacobs avoids meat and sugar, and only consumes pasta, rice and bread once or twice a week.

Instead, she eats high-fat foods including nuts, avocado and cheese.

Jacobs added: “I’m not great at exercise. I go to F45 [a gym] right by my house – I’m not the best person in the class but I thank myself for showing up and sweating.”

She took to Instagram yesterday (22 July) to share the news of her shoot with her 150,000 followers.

Kathy wrote: “The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2021 issue hits the stands tomorrow and I’m beyond proud to be the OLDEST AND SHORTEST ROOKIE IN HISTORY.

“Anyone got a connection at @guinnessworldrecords to hook a girl up with an official title?”

Jacobs will be in good company in the issue – with fellow models including cover stars Megan Thee Stallion, Naomi Osaka and Leyna Bloom.
