This clip shows a funeral procession organised to pay respect to an old bull that died of old age.

Villagers are seen mourning the death of the animal, praying, and playing a wide range of instruments in his honor. They walk towards the cemetery with big umbrellas, generally used for deities' processions.

Footage shows the crowd carrying the animal's body to the burial ground. Children cry for the loss.

Bulls are considered sacred in many parts of India. This one was reared in a temple located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu's Sivagnangai district and was used in the village for breeding purposes.

Temple Bull's funeral procession was held with all due respect in South India.

In Tamilnadu bulls will be reared in temples and it wont be tied. This bull is considered as holy animal. All the villagers feed the holy bull. It is used for impregnating the village’s cows alone.

Likewise a Temple bull is reared in a temple in karaikudi area of Sivagnangai district in tamilnadu. This bull died due to its old age. All the villagers gathered and they mourned for the death of the bull. The final rituals and the death procession took place in a very grand manner. Even human who die wont be receiving such kind of respect but this temple bull was given a grand procession with crackers bursting, Lots of garlands, playing of the old instruments kept in the temples and the big umbrella that is often used for deity's (God's)procession is also used. It was later buried receiving the mourning's of the entire village.
