Anti-Vaccine protesters harass doctor during anti-vaccine protest
Anti-vaccine protesters and conspiracy theorists held a protest outside Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. They protested against the vaccine and South Africa's lockdown regulations aimed ant containing the spread of Covid 19. South Africa is currently experiencing a third wave of infections.
A Groote Schuur Hospital doctor, Dr Felipe Montoya-pelaez, came out and held a placard with "Covidiots' painted on it. The police approached the doctor and asked him to leave. While the police were escorting the man, anti-vaccine crowd started harassing him.
Montoya-pelaez said he worked at the hospital and explained how during the past 18 months he has escorted people into the Covid ICU ward. He said the actions by the protesters were outrageous and ignorant.
