Hindu Groups Protest Outside Bangladesh Embassy In Delhi,Condemning the Violence against Hindus in Bangladesh
Members of the Hindu Religious Groups headed by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) protested outside the Bangladesh Embassy in Delhi on 20th October, condemning the violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh during the Durga Puja Celebrations. The group called for a nationwide protest against Bangladesh for the attack on Hindus and vandalization of temples Durga puja marquees in Bangladesh.
Hundreds of protestors gathered outside the Bangladesh embassy in Delhi and shouted slogans against the extremist groups in Bangladesh for killing 10 Hindus and injuring thousands of Hindu worshippers. The group claimed, several Hindu temples and houses were damaged and burnt and properties were looted during the attacks.
Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh began during last week's Durga Puja festivities, when a video, showing alleged desecration of the Quran at a pandal in Cumilla, went viral. Since then, violence against members of the community has been reported from many parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka.
