Footage shows the Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday afternoon January 7 as the country cracks down on nightlife following a rise in Omicron Covid-19 cases.

Passengers were warned against travel between provinces as the government today announced that bars would have to stop serving alcohol at 9 pm due to a rise in cases, with more than 7,000 people reporting positive infections.

Despite the gradual tightening of restrictions, ministers widened the Phuket sandbox scheme to several other regions in order to keep revenue from tourism trickling in.
