A woman has collected more than 5,000 pencil sharpeners in 40 years in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Mianyang in Sichuan Province on January 13 shows a woman named Zhao Xinhong introducing the special pencil sharpeners that she collected since 1981.

Zhao said: "(I collected pencil sharpeners) because there were not many toys for us when I was a child. So when I saw the exquisite pencil sharpeners I started to collect them.

"Look at this one. I asked a friend to make the pencil sharpener for me last year as it was the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China."

When being asked how long will she keep collecting the pencil sharpeners, Zhao said, "with the development of the society, we don’t use pencil sharpeners anymore. But I will probably keep collecting them."

走进市民赵新红家里，你会被一个个玻璃柜吸引。仔细一看，里面放的全是卷笔刀，从憨态可掬的十二生肖，到耳熟能详的卡通人物，造型各异，琳琅满目。

赵新红与卷笔刀结缘，还得追溯到1981年。“我们小时候物资贫乏，没有什么玩具。我上初中的时候，买了人生第一个卷笔刀，感觉它既可以当文具又可以玩，从此就爱上了卷笔刀”。

就这样，赵新红开始了收藏卷笔刀之旅，从文具店到风景区，从绵阳到北京。为了收藏一些特别的卷笔刀，赵新红几乎跑遍了祖国的大江南北。

赵新红说，这些卷笔刀是藏品，也是她的青春，更是学习和成长的过程。“在收藏的过程中我不断学习和了解卷笔刀背后的故事。卷笔刀是1812年一个德国人发明的。全世界有很多千姿百态的卷笔刀，有塑料、木头、竹子还有陶瓷等材质的。”

近两年，为了收藏到更特别，更有意义的卷笔刀，赵新红不仅采用购买的方式，还邀请收藏圈中的好友，一起动手制作卷笔刀。

“这是中国共产党成立一百周年庆祝活动标识，去年我们到处去找这种标识的卷笔刀，但是都没有。我就通过朋友定制了一个木头雕刻的，在家随时都能看着它，想到自己是一个党员就特别骄傲。”赵新红说。

40年时间，收藏5000个卷笔刀，对赵新红而言，是笔快乐的财富。独乐乐不如众乐乐，赵新红爱收藏，也爱分享。从去年开始，她就把自己的这些藏品拿到社区公开展览，同时还拍照上传到网上，分享给更多的人。
