Huge bubbles of ice resembling dumplings sit underneath frozen lake in China
Huge bubbles resembling dumplings formed under the ice of a frozen lake in northern China.
Video filmed in the city of Taonan in Jilin Province on February 11 shows thousands of bubbles under the surface of the frozen Sihai Lake.
Tourists were seen walking on it and taking pictures of the ice bubbles that also resemble rice balls.
The Lantern Festival which marks the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations is on 15 February this year.
People normally eat rice balls to celebrate it as the round shape of the balls symbolise family togetherness and eating rice balls may bring the family harmony, happiness and luck in the new year.
