Crocodiles lurk in murky pond at Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand
Pet crocodiles lurk in the dirty green water at a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday, March 20.
The reptiles live in a murky pool where they are fed by monks at the 'Crocodile Temple', also known as Wat Sam Pluem or its full title of Wat Chakrawatrachawat Woramahawihan in the Chinatown area of the capital city.
Hundreds of visitors, including locals and tourists, visit the temple every day to marvel at the huge creatures.
The monks take care of the killer animals as they believe that it is a good deed that will give them extra points in the afterlife.
They have given them a concrete shelter and a small man-made pond where they can soak during hot days.
Buddhism is practised by 95 per cent of Thailand's population as well as neighbouring countries Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
