The female pet pooch named Saikrok visits a food stall to buy meatballs for a snack - but only when her owner tucks a 20 baht note in her collar in Udon Thani province, Thailand.

Footage shows the intelligent creature waiting patiently for the vendor to hand her some meat before the old woman stood up to take the dog's order on January 13.

She was then fed with some meatballs on a stick after the vendor took the money fastened on the 8-year-old pooch's neck.

Stall owner Jitra Ruangdetch, 66, said: "This dog is very smart, it only visits the stall when there’s money tucked in its collar. Whenever I see it walking to my stall, I know I have to give it meatballs."

Pet owner Arunee Tongdetch, 82, said the savoury treats are Saikrok's favourite food, adding that the dog would often rub its face on her leg when she's hungry.

She said: "Saikrok does that whenever she wants to eat meatballs. She rubs her head to ask me to bring her to the stall or give her money so she can go there by herself.

"She is chubby because she is spayed. I have two other pet dogs, but none of them are as smart as my special Saikrok."
