A shocked customer allegedly found a razor blade hidden in a samosa he bought from a food stall in India.

Ramesh Verma claimed he lined up at a popular street side shop to buy the savoury snack when he found the sharp object in Rajasthan on January 13.

Footage shows the deep-fried treat cut open revealing the metal appearing to have been stuffed inside with the filling.

Ramesh said the blade was mixed with the mashed potato packed inside so he returned it to the shopkeeper.

However, Ramesh said the owner refused to accept accountability, so he reported it to authorities.

Police investigator Hari Ram said: 'We are currently looking into this.'

A samosa is a popular snack or appetiser originating from South Asia. It is a fried or baked pastry filled with a savoury mixture, typically spiced potatoes, peas, lentils, or minced meat.
