Attachment promises to turn Tesla’s Cybertruck into a "Swiss army knife"
A camping attachment promises to turn Tesla’s Cybertruck into a "Swiss army knife". Californian start-up Space Campers have created a wedge-style add-on to Elon Musk’s elusive vehicle that allows ‘limitless’ customisation. The firm say nearly every feature serves more than one purpose. A bed for two tucks out of the way to allow standing room, and detachable hinges can transform it into benches, work surfaces or an exterior table. The interior can be configured into an electric kitchen compatible with Cybertruck’s industry-leading battery pack. The induction cooktop and electric cooler are portable for indoor or outdoor use. A so-called 'shower wand' can be put up inside or outside the camper to accommodate the weather, while a portable toilet will sit under the cover of the shower enclosure to create a private bathroom. Water for the shower is gathered from portable freshwater tanks that can sit in the bed of the truck, or inside the cab if space is running tight. The Space Camper can also be used for work or practical situations, with the option to leave it empty and available for cargo, building materials or camping gear. The base-build for the Space Camper is £19,000, with customisations adding to the price. Deposits, starting at £80, are being taken based on production priority tiers. However, despite being unveiled in 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck is not expected to be delivered to customers before 2023 at minimum.
