'Cauliflower' clouds appear in Mongolia
This is the moment a blanket of bizarre "cauliflower" clouds appeared over Mongolia.
Footage shows the cotton ball-like clouds hovering over Tongliao city's Horqin Left Rear Banner on June 5.
The local weather forecast report said the cloud formation is called a mammatus cloud.
Mammatus are sagging, pouch-like protrusions on the undersides of clouds that are usually associated with thunderstorms.
These unique clouds form when cloud droplets evaporate, saturate, and cool the air, causing parts of the cloud to sink, and creating their signature cotton ball-like appearance.
