Spectacular 'hat' cloud forms on top of mountain in the Philippines
A spectacular ‘hat' cloud stunned locals as it formed over a mountain in the Philippines.
Footage captured by Peter John Lebo shows a thick, swirling mass of cloud crowning Mount Apo, the country's highest peak, in Digos City, Davao del Sur, on September 30.
The dramatic lenticular cloud can be seen hovering over the summit, leaving residents in awe.
Peter said: ‘It was a majestic view. It was very beautiful. I couldn't stop admiring it.'
Lenticular clouds form when moist air flows over mountains or other barriers, creating standing waves in the atmosphere that shape the clouds into striking, lens-like formations.
